POTTSVILLE, Pennsylvania (November 30, 2009) — EXTOL International Inc. released version 5.4 of its EXTOL Secure (ESX) software with new features designed to increase throughput, enhance security, and make external partner integration easier and more flexible.

EXTOL Secure, a standards-compliant solution for sending and receiving EDI, XML and other data securely over the Internet, uses the standard AS2 protocol to protect the privacy and integrity of data communications with external partners. With the new features and enhancements in ESX 5.4, users can:

  • Restrict outbound message traffic to a designated range of egress ports
  • Preserve original file names at the destination when sending or receiving file data
  • Employ multiple parallel adapters when connecting with EXTOL integration products
  • Exploit multi-threading for message sending, message receiving and acknowledgements
  • Monitor AS2 operational and port status on a customizable Web page

In addition, ESX 5.4 earned AS2-1Q09 Interoperability Certification from the Drummond Group interoperability test lab in June 2009. The certification ensures compatibility between software products from different vendors, for seamless operation and uniform functionality across supply chains and distribution channels.
