Anthony Baran

Anthony Baran
President & CEO

Anthony (Tony) Baran is a co-founder of EXTOL International, Inc. He has been President and Chief Executive Officer of EXTOL since it was established in 1989. Prior to forming EXTOL, he was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Model Garment Company, a 600 employee private label sportswear manufacturer. Mr. Baran frequently speaks on business technology issues and Electronic Commerce related topics for organizations such as COMMON (the IBM midrange user group) and other business groups. He is a director of the Empire Education Group, and a licensed communications engineer. Active in civic and business affairs, he is currently Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Schuylkill Technology Incubator, and a member of the board of directors of Schuylkill Health System, a former Director and Officer of the American Apparel Manufacturers Association, the AAMA Technical Advisory and Apparel Research Committees, the Schuylkill Economic Development Corporation and a member of the Schuylkill County Airport Authority. Mr. Baran is a 1972 graduate of Lehigh University.

 

Joshua Baran

Chief Technology Officer

Joshua Baran joined EXTOL part-time in the summer of 1997, and became a full-time programmer in 2000. He has written a large portion of both the operation code and UI for EXTOL Business Integrator 2, EXTOL’s flagship product, and is currently writing a large portion of the UI of EXTOL Business Integrator 3. His current role also includes high level technical research, determining new product additions, and finding more ways to solve new problems with existing products. Baran is a 2000 graduate of Lehigh University and holds a B.S. in Computer Science.

 

Matthew Baran

Chief Operating Officer

Matthew Baran joined EXTOL in 2003 and was a member of the Documentation and Support teams before becoming Director of Managed Services in 2009. He currenlty serves on the board of the Schuylkill Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO), was Chairman of the Board for Schuylkill County’s VISION, and also served on the boards of the Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce and the Schuylkill County Drug and Alcohol Commission. Mr. Baran earned a B.S. in Business Administration, Finance and Communication from Bryant College in 2003.

 

Jack Byrne

Chief Financial Officer

Jack Byrne joined EXTOL in 2004 as Chief Financial Officer. Prior to joining EXTOL, he served in a succession of senior finance positions with the Sara Lee Corporation from 1981 through 2004, including ten years of international experience and a three year assignment as Chief Financial Officer as well as Global Business Practices Officer of a $100 million division. He received a BS in Accounting from Bentley College in 1979 and an MBA from the University of Connecticut in 1983.

 

Jim O'Leary

James F. O'Leary
Vice President, Product Strategy

James (Jim) O'Leary joined EXTOL in 2002 with over 20 years of senior and executive management experience in the software industry. Prior to joining EXTOL, Mr. O'Leary launched the B2B Product Marketing program at Mercator Software, where he held worldwide responsibility for planning, positioning, and delivery of B2B integration offerings. At Unidata / Ardent Software, O'Leary was responsible for worldwide Product Marketing and Strategic Marketing, where he led the integration of acquired product lines and Product Marketing organizations. Early in his career, O'Leary served in a succession of senior Product Management and Product Strategy positions at Software AG, during a period when the company enjoyed historic revenue growth and market success. Mr. O'Leary earned a B.S. from the University of Kansas in 1975.

 

Greg Inns

Gregory W. Inns
Vice President, Product Development

Gregory W. Inns joined EXTOL in 2001 as a Systems Analyst. For several years, he played a critical role in the design and development of EXTOL’s Business Integration platform, resulting in his promotion to Director of Java Development in January, 2007. Prior to joining EXTOL, Mr. Inns served in several technical consulting roles involving large scale, complex application development and integration projects across a wide variety of industries. Mr. Inns holds a B.S. in Computers and Information Systems from Bloomsburg University.

 

Jeffrey Inns

Vice President, Product Infrastructure

Jeffrey (Jeff) Inns joined EXTOL in 2000 as a Programmer/Analyst. During his tenure at EXTOL, Jeff has served as a Programmer/Analyst for the EXTOL Business Integrator (EBI) product, Application Support Team Leader, Director of Managed Services and Director of Technical Integration. Prior to joining EXTOL, Jeff served in a technical consulting capacity involving large scale and complex application development in the retirement/pension industry. Jeff holds a B.S. in Computers and Information Systems from Bloomsburg University.

 

Jim Albright

Jim Albright
Vice President, Marketing

Jim Albright joined EXTOL in 2012 with more than a decade of marketing experience, primarily with hardware, software and technical services companies across multiple channels. Prior to joining EXTOL, Mr. Albright had led the successful development and execution of product and branding campaigns that have significantly expanded visibility and awareness for globally positioned technology companies. Mr. Albright holds a B.S. in Marketing and Communications from Eastern Connecticut State University.

 

Joseph Baran

In Memory of Joseph Baran

In memory of EXTOL co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, Joe Baran, who passed away suddenly on August 14, 2011. Joe was a very visible and guiding force at EXTOL since the company's beginning, and his leadership, technical skills and passion were primarily responsible for much of the success that EXTOL has achieved. Joe will be sorely missed, but will forever remain an inspiration and example to his beloved EXTOL family.
